Join our Bridges® memory care at Waterstone team to learn how using the ethics of fibbing avoids the truth as an act of compassionate kindness.

The Ethics of Fibbing

The Ethics of Fibbing

Tuesday, May 13th | 2:00 p.m.

Light refreshments will be available.

Therapeutic fibbing is all about bending the truth to avoid agitation and distress for an individual experiencing memory loss. Join us to discuss how caregivers can:

  • Use subtle redirection to avoid conflict.
  • Validate feelings to offer reassurance.
  • Convey emotional truths rather than factual ones.

It’s not about sanctioning deception. Instead, a therapeutic fib avoids the truth as an act of compassionate kindness. Come and join us to learn more.

We’re here to support you and your loved one with memory loss. Feel free to bring them along—they can enjoy an activity with our life enrichment team while you attend the educational session at our community at High Ridge.
